What we do:
Our staff is trained to handle emergency
situations with care and compassion your pet deserves. Should your pet’s
condition require after hours care, or emergency procedures, our hospital is
fully equipped to provide. Our veterinarian will examine your pet, and
discuss treatment options and estimates with you. From there we will provide
quality emergency care for your pet, anything from radiographs (x-rays), to
monitoring vital functions, intravenous fluids and electrolyte therapy,
surgery, anesthesia and laboratory tests. During clinic hours veterinarians
and support staff will always be there to provide the best care for your
pets.
Relationship with RDVMs:
It is our objective not to replace the
services offered by regular veterinarians, but rather to act as an extension
of the excellent care already given to patients and clients with the
provision of emergency and after hours assistance. In order to achieve this
goal, we believe that it is essential to have a responsible and trusting
relationship with all RDVMs. |

Duties Towards Clients: AT MAEC we know that the foremost
responsibility of a veterinary practitioner is to provide treatment to the
patients, but we strongly believe that it is equally important to be
accountable to their owners.
Quality of Service:
We are committed to offering the highest
possible quality of service. We aspire to help all clients in their hour of
need with professionalism, empathy, and consideration for each individual
situation.
Communication:
The satisfaction of clients is our
priority, and effective communication is a key component to achieve this
objective. Clear, useful and relevant client education/communication will be
a corner stone in the operation of MAEC in all dealings with clients,
whether on the phone or in exam room. Every effort will be made to cultivate
and maintain good communication between MAEC and all referring practices. |

Records: The completed medical records containing
all the necessary information will be faxed to the respective RDVMs upon the
discharge of the patient.
Cost Estimates:
Every client will be given an estimate that
details the type and cost of services to be provided before the patient is
admitted. This will allow each client to understand what the emergency
treatment for their pet will entail and to ask any arising questions.
Our Relationship with your veterinarian:
Every effort will be made to stay in touch
with your regular veterinarian. This includes patient transfers, transfer of
complete records upon discharge of the patient, and follow-up communication
with your veterinarian. |

Follow-Up Care: When your pet is discharged we will provide
you with written instructions outlining procedures for medications,
exercise, maintenance, feeding and re-check appointments. The Mainland
Animal Emergency Clinic is open when your regular veterinarian is closed.
So, your pet may also be transferred to your regular veterinarian for day
care, if needed. For follow-up care and re-check appointment we feel your
pet would be best served at your local veterinarian.
For suture removal or drainage tube removal, at no charge, you can either
come to us during our hours of operation or you can go to your regular
veterinarian.
Phone calls will be made to all clients to check on the progress of the
patients treated at MAEC in order to ensure their health ane well-being and
to address any concerns clients may have. |
