Dr. Gurcharan Dhaliwal
Dr. “Garry” Dhaliwal followed his true love for animals by pursuing a career
as veterinarian, and graduated with his Masters Degree in Veterinary
Medicine in 2001. He moved to Canada in 2002 and became a member of the
BCVMA in 2005 after completing the ECFVG program at Oklahoma State
University, where he spent a lot of time in small animal ICU.
In order to gain further experience in veterinary medicine and surgery, he
joined our staff. |

Dr. Randeep Malhotra
With a very gentle and compassionate manner, Dr. “Randy” easily wins the
heart of every furry creature he meets. He earned his degree in Veterinary
Sciences and Animal Husbandry in 1991, and then worked in his country of
origin for several years before moving to Canada, where he completed the
North American Veterinary Licensing Examinations.
He spent two years developing exceptional skills in emergency medicine, and
has gained a repertoire in invaluable experiences that he now uses each day
when faced with the challenging work.
Presently, he works as a locum veterinarian at Oak Animal Hospital in
Vancouver, while also locuming at Central Animal Emergency Clinic. He is
very dedicated to provide the best possible care for all patients in their
hour of need and is constantly working towards professional improvement. At
home, he spends most of his time with his wonderful family. |

Dr. M. Shuaib Zaffer
Dr, Zaffer is a dynamic member of our team. He graduated with Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine in 1994 and continued on to gain a masters Degree in
Veterinary Pathology (Msc. HONS.). He has also done research on the
principles of Fluid Therapy in Dogs and has several articles/publications to
his credit.
He completed his ECFVG Certification in Canada, and has spent time working
in both emergency and general practices in his country of origin, Ontario
and British Columbia. He is very compassionate about the improvement of
animal care and well-being, and is currently following this interest as
Veterinary Associate at Alta Vista Animal Hoapital in Vancouver, in addition
to working at MAEC. Away from work he enjoys reading, listening to music and
playing cricket or hockey. |

Cassandra Gatti
Nurse Care
Cassandra graduated from the Veterinary Hospital Assistant course at Surrey
College in 2007. She has been working here at Mainland Animal Emergency
since the day we opened. She has 2 dogs, ones a 3 year old Golden Retriever
named Cooper and the other is a 1 year old Boxer X Bulldog named Leila. She
also owns 2 cats named Hudson and Smokey. Her hobbies are reading, going
horseback riding and traveling. |

Danielle
Nurse Care
Danielle graduated from Surrey College’s Veterinary Hospital Assistant
Diploma Program in 2007. She then began work as a Patient Care Assistant, at
Canada West Veterinary Specialists and Critical Care Hospital. Danielle
joined the Mainland team at the beginning of June, 2009. Her hobbies include
drawing, photography, camping, Girl Guides and doing agility with her 3 year
old Golden Retriever, Liam. |

Neisha Tremblay
Nurse Care
Neisha graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Diploma Program from the West
Coast College of Health Care in 2005 and since has worked in the Health Care
Field. Neisha moved back to Alberta to continue her studies in the
Laboratory Field, and has had the opportunity to work at Mainland Animal
Emergency since the opening of our clinic.
She enjoys working with small animals and the variety of cases seen in
emergency medicine. Her home is shared with 3 cats Destiny, Trinity, Sianne
and a lovable Shih-tzu named Phoebe who are everyday reminders as to the
strength of the human-animal bond. |

Trevor Prociuk
Nurse Care
I have been working at Mainland Animal Emergency since it opened after
finishing my Veterinary Assistant Course from West Coast College. I grew up
on a farm outside of my hometown of Edmonton, Alberta.
My favorite sport is
hockey and I would like to go to Ukraine and plan a trip of seeing live
hockey in all the European countries. |

Brittany Baldonero
Veterinary Office Assistant
Brittany graduated from Douglas College in 2009 as a
Veterinary Office and Assistant (VOA) and has loved working in emergency
ever since. She has a passion for animals and has dreamt about working
with animals since she was a child. She provides excellent care and
support to her all patients.
Brittany is currently in college as she
is pursuing a career as a psychiatric nurse. When she is not busy with her
studies, she spends her time with her pets. She currently has four pets at
home; two cats (Casper and Kea) and two dogs (Katie and Jayda). |

Christine is a team member and working as receptionist
and veterinary assistant for last two years. She is currently doing her
Bachelors in Science with Biology major.
She has passion to be a veterinarian one
day. She is applying to get into veterinary school next year. She
currently lives in Surrey with her family and her cat. |

My name is Simon and I am a lovable Pixie bob/DSH breed. I welcome and greet
everyone who comes into the clinic with a friendly nudge. I enjoy eating,
sleeping, chasing my toy mice and bird watching from the comforts of home.
